Is this a free IT assessment?
Many firms advertise a free scan. We start with a conversation, then scope a time-boxed checkup. Short looks can sit inside discovery. Larger ones are a defined project. We quote after we know what to look at. Request an assessment on this form, or start at Become a Client.
Do you just scan for vulnerabilities?
A vulnerability assessment usually means finding the weak spots. We inventory systems, identity, backup, and open risks, then write that down. We do not sell a branded automated scan as the product. Ongoing monitoring lives under Cybersecurity.
We only wanted someone to look at our computers / network. Is this it?
Yes. Evaluating the computers, the network, and whether the backup would actually restore is the whole job. You get a written picture and a recommended next step. If you already know you need day-to-day computer support, start with IT Support.
What happens after the checkup?
You get the summary and a recommended first engagement if one is warranted. That might be Managed IT, Cybersecurity, Fractional CIO/CISO, or a project under IT Consulting. Some engagements end at the assessment because the answer was simpler than expected.
Is this the same as hiring IT support?
No. Hiring IT support is the ongoing desk: tickets, monitoring, backup, and a named owner. That work is IT Support under Managed IT. Use the assessment when you want to look first.
Is this the same as a penetration test?
No. The checkup inventories computers, identity, backup, and vendors, then writes a recommended next step. A penetration test tries to get into a defined part of the environment and writes what worked. Many firms do the checkup first. Insurers and client questionnaires often ask for the test.
